Sustainability is a huge focus for us here at Lolly & Bean. It’s at the heart of everything we do. From sourcing organic fabrics to using FSC-certified sustainable packaging and marketing materials, there’s not a single area we haven’t thought about. We’re always thinking of out-of-the-box ideas for ways we can be as sustainable as possible.
So how do we ensure our brand is creating a greener future for our little ones? Every fabric we use is 100% GOTS Oeko-tex 1 certified organic cotton, meaning all of our fabric is certified sustainable! But what are the benefits of organic cotton?

01 Lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Organic cotton cultivation can produce far less greenhouse gases than conventional cotton, meaning it’s not just kind to your skin… It’s also kind to our planet.

Organic farming relies on natural methods to control pests, reducing the risks of harmful pesticides being used. This also has a great impact on biodiversity!

We design pieces that won’t just fit your little one for longer, they’ll also last. This means they can be passed down again and again to ensure a long lifespan. More than 183 million pieces of childrens clothing end up in landfill every year in the UK alone and we don’t want to contribute further to that number. That’s why every piece is carefully designed to be durable, unisex and timeless so it really can stand the test of time.
Packaging and marketing materials
With online orders becoming increasingly popular across all goods, packaging has a huge impact on our environment. How many plastic mail bags do you have arrive at your doorstep every year? Now imagine how many that is worldwide! That’s why we only use 100% recyclable, 100% biodegradable, plastic free and planet friendly packaging. But don’t worry… Your items are well and truly protected. Our FSC packaging is water repellent to ensure your orders arrive with you safely.
We’ve gone one step further and everything down to our swing tags are FCS certified. Anything you see from Lolly & Bean from flyers to thank you cards have been printed on 100% recycled de-inked post consumer waste paper which is processed chlorine free (PCF) which significantly reduces water contamination from processing. So, not only is our marketing material 100% recyclable, it’s sustainably produced too.
Manufacturing
We’ve cut out the factory’s and warehouses. Everything we sell is handmade and packaged in our studio in the Cotswolds, England. That means a significantly reduced carbon footprint. By keeping things in-house, there’s a small trail of where your garment have been. No product needs a fully stamped passports! Let’s start glamourising products that don’t travel the world.
